Building upon Supporting Your Muslim Clients, this workshop provides an overview of religious, spiritual, and cultural frameworks relevant for the counsel of Muslim clientele. Attendees will be introduced to essential concepts in Islamic spirituality, psychology, and religious practice that are pertinent for understanding and supporting the mental health and wellbeing of your Muslim clients.

Participants will:

•Gain a better understanding of Islamic beliefs and practices around mental health.

•Learn about current and historical developments in the practice of Islamic psychology.

•Gain a better understanding of the contemporary role and function of the imam in relation to mental health.

•Develop cultural competencies through guided lessons and cases studies.
