Description:
“Be My Guest” is an interactive event series that centers around food as an invitation for storytelling, conversation, and making connections

Join Twin Cities PBS and the Minneapolis Institute of Art for an interactive virtual event on religion, art, and storytelling.

We spend an evening with two artists as they discuss the importance of expressing their faith through art. We examine collections from the Minneapolis Institute of Art, and we reflect on how religious artworks and stories have influenced our community, culture, and history.

Gather your drawing utensils and join us as we explore these questions and more with the help of community storytellers and original media designed to foster empathy and solidarity among our Muslim and non-Muslim communities.

Featuring: Host Hibo Glued, artist and graphic designer Madalina Kelner, and comic artist Hawwa Youngmark

Attendees located in the Twin Cities metro will be mailed an activity kit and gift card to enjoy a meal from Afro Deli.

Attendees located in Greater Minnesota will be mailed an activity kit and gift card to use at Target. Recommended recipes are provided for the full Be My Guest experience.

Join us in making new connections — virtually — and engage in meaningful dialogue with the aim of activating empathy across differences. There is no cost to participate.
