Yahya Birt, an accomplished scholar, and writer, has dedicated his research to the exploration of Islam in Britain, with a focus on the invaluable contributions of Abdullah Quilliam. Armed with a Master of Philosophy in Social and Cultural Anthropology from Oxford University, he’s currently immersed in doctoral research at Leeds University, delving into the realm of British Muslim activism. Birt’s scholarly endeavors have earned him recognition in prominent newspapers, and in 2014, The Economist acknowledged him as an “influential British Muslim.” Join us as he shares his extensive insights into the rich history of Islam in the UK.
