GO BACK TO WHERE YOU CAME FROM! with Wajahat Ali and Hari Kondabolu

Growing up in the United States, writer Wajahat Ali and comedian Hari Kondabolu didn’t have brown superheroes or protagonists. People who looked like them were seen as villains, goofy sidekicks, or worst, erased from the American narrative. As such, they always had to write their own roles and parts in America, a country they love but doesn’t always love them back.

In this lively, blunt, and honest conversation, they discuss themes from Ali’s new book GO BACK TO WHERE YOU CAME FROM: AND OTHER HELPFUL RECOMMENDATIONS ON HOW TO BECOME AMERICAN, which is an “elegy” for the rest of us who are not considered to be real Americans from the Rust Belt.
