BACKGROUND
Halal has been a critical topic in recent decades, not only in Muslim countries but also in non-Muslim countries, due to its progressive business and economic activities. From its food-centric roots, the Halal industry has gradually expanded to encompass all aspects of human life, including food processing, logistics, tourism, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, marketing, fashion, and Islamic finance and banking.
The halal industry has enormous potential for growth. The halal product market is expected to grow from 1.4 trillion US dollars in 2017 to around 2.6 trillion by 2024, with Halal cosmetics alone expected to be worth 54.16 billion USD in 2022. The global expansion of the halal industry prompted the demand for many different facets, including standardised halal regulation, advanced transformations in terms of policy regulations, halal supply chain management, risk and reputation management, as well as halal business management. This event will discuss the recent development of Halal industry, its significant challenges, and future prospects
