Know your Enemy: THE DEVIL

He was present at the creation of the first human and it was due to a test related to that human which he failed that he became our sworn enemy. The time has come for you to know your enemy

A reality that we cannot escape, even should we wish to, is that we as Muslims have many enemies. It is not a chance occurrence but rather the nature of things. The enemies of light are the forces of darkness and the enemies of darkness are the forces of light. There are only two sides and having chosen your side, you have also inadvertently chosen your enemy. Here there is no opportunity for fence-sitting as this war wages on and without confederates you are sure to be a casualty; if not now then soon.

He was present at the creation of the first human and it was due to a test related to that human which he failed that he became our sworn enemy. He is the leader of the forces of evil and, just like on a chess board, if you overthrow the king it is game over for the rest of the army. He has been fighting this war since our ancestor Ādam [peace be upon him] and is well-versed in various military tactics, stratagems and deceptions which has proven to be resounding successes against the majority of humanity.

The time has come for you to know your enemy: Who is he and what is his history? What species does he belong to and what are their strengths and weaknesses? What are his aims and purposes behind this war both short term and long term? What do we do that is pleasing to him and what do we do that angers him? When are we following in his footsteps and when are we walking the path of the righteous? What are his preferred weapons and how does one neutralise them? How does he either nullify our good deeds or severely decrease its efficacy and reward? What are the weapons that Allāh has kept in store for you in the Qurān and Sunnah, and how do you use them effectively in battle?
