Master The Arabic Alphabet (let it master you) is an online event where you can dive deep into the beautiful world of Arabic letters, which is arguably the most important part of tajweed as it is the root and foundation. Mistakes in this area are considered major mistakes as it may cause changes in the meaning. Join us for an interactive session where you will learn the basics of the Arabic alphabet and how to recognize and pronounce each letter with ease. Whether you are a beginner (tips for memorizing the letters will be shared) or looking to brush up on your skills or tighten up your foundation, this event is for you.

Many may assume a class on the alphabet is only for beginners. However, the alphabet is the foundation of perfecting one’s Quran recitation. If the foundation is solid, the remaining 40% of tajweed will come with ease. We will go over terms like makhraj, heavy and light, and their application, as well as be able to identify any personal mistakes we may be making in the area of phonetics, which makes up 60% of tajweed. We will make sure that our foundation is strong before we move on to more advanced topics in tajweed, which are cumulative.
