Motion M-62 Vote and Reception

The Uyghur-Canadian community is celebrating the passing of MP Sameer Zuberi’s private member’s motion, M-62, which will welcome 10,000 Uyghur refugees into Canada by 2024.

This motion will hold its final vote on February 1. Join us in watching live in the House of Commons, or online, (time TBA) as members of parliament vote to pass this historic piece of legislation.

Afterwards, we are welcoming community members and parliamentarians to a celebratory reception from 5-7 pm at 180 Wellington Street, Room 325. The Uyghur community will recognize all parliamentarians who have contributed their time and dedication to the realization of this cause. Food and refreshments will be provided.
