The Qur’an is a book that while all Muslims in the world believe in, the majority of them of yet to understand it. This is the only literature in existence that will shape a person to become the optimum human being, as Allah states, “Indeed, this Qur’an provides direction to what is the most upright.” (Surat al-Isra 17:9). Its message is simple and clear and is continuously reinforced through its diverse examples; “Surely, We have put forth every kind of lesson in this Qur’an for the benefit of humanity.” (Surat al-Kahf 18:54). The Almighty has invited us all to take advantage of the advice He has to offer in this scripture along with highlighting the benefits we will attain as a result by stating, “Humankind, advice has come to you from your Rabb, and a cure for the [adverse things] found in your heart, and guidance and mercy for the believers.” (Surat Yunus 10:57)

Contrary to public perception, the Qur’an’s content is far more comprehendible and accessible than people are culturally led to believe; “Undoubtedly, we have made the Qur’an easy to take advice from, so is there anyone who will be mindful?” (Surat al-Qamar 54:17) Hence, to create the much-needed bridge between the community and the Qur’an, the Mathabah Institute has introduced this certification program called the Qur’an Tafsir certificate.

In this program, students will study select surahs of the Qur’an in which they will be given an in-depth breakdown of each verse in light of the most authentic prophetic narrations all while covering contemporary issues that are extracted from them. They will also be provided the opportunity to attain a certificate of authorization to teach the material to others in the community upon the successful completion of their exams.
