The Black Muslim Women Healing Collective Presents…The Ramadan Quran Academy: A 5 week Quran Recitation course

“And declare (O Muhammad) Quran is guidance and healing for believers”

After the success of our Academy last year, we are excited to once again offer an opportunity to develop your connection to the Quran this Ramadan.

The Qu’ran is not just a guidance for us in our lives, it is also a complete cure for everything. A cure for all illnesses and difficulties, and indeed a cure for our hearts and souls. It is THE book that when you read, listen or learn will heal you.

Begin the journey of healing through getting to know the Qu’ran, learn to correctly recite and connect with the Quran. All of our teachers are Black Muslim Women who are students of the Quran and can support you on this beautiful journey

Course information:

These are women-only sessions and are a space for Black Muslim women to develop their connection to the Quran.

1. When signing up you are committing to attending the full 5-week course beginning on Saturday 26th March 2022
2. In order to create the best learning environment, class sizes will be small, Please cancel your ticket if you are no longer able to attend
3. Minimum age: 15 years

Courses available: Arabic reading for Beginners
Begins Monday 28th March 10.15-11.15am (UK time)

Teacher: Ustadha Ruqayyah

Learn how to correctly identify and pronounce the Arabic letters and vowel sounds. You will be working through the Qaidah (alphabet pronunciation) and the last 3 surahs of the Quran.

Tajweed for Beginners
Begins Saturday 26th March 10-11am (UK time)

Teacher: Ustadha Mariam

Tajweed is a set of rules for the correct pronunciation of the alphabet with all its qualities

On this level Learn to read the last 10 surah of Juzz Amma with the correct pronunciation with an introduction to Tajweed rules.

This class is intended for those that can read but have little to no knowledge of Tajweed and are looking to improve the fluency of their reading.

Tajweed for Improvers
Begins Sunday 27th March 11-12noon (UK time)

Teacher: Ustadha Marie

Learn how to read Surat Ul- Mulk with the correct pronunciation and improve your Tajweed.

This class is intended for those that can read with a level of fluency and looking to develop their reading skills.

Course Fee

We are committed to honoring the time of our teachers and investing back in our community while also making it easier for our community to invest time and resources in learning the Quran.

We have developed a sliding scale as a means of making our classes fully accessible. There are limited tickets at each scale.

There is one fully funded space for a sister who is committed to attending all sessions but are currently going through financial difficulty. Please contact us if we can support you.

Sliding Scale Fee*

Scale 1- £25 (£5 per session)

Scale 2- £40 (£8 per session)

Scale 3- £55 (£11 per session)
