Description:
The course aims to instill an understanding of the pillars of Islam, recognise Islam as a holistic way of life and maintain a Muslims identity in a modern society confidently, and adhering to the Qur’an and sunnah.

Objectives
1. Understanding what it means it means to be Muslim and building our relationship with our Creator

2. Understand how to rewire their thinking and what impacts it

3. Understanding the locus of control and how their actions influence everyone around them
4. Learn practical tools on developing good habits
5. Learn how to gain clarity on who they are and what needs to change
6. Understand how to develop good relationships by becoming active listeners and improving their communication
7. Understanding the influences of a positive environment

Outline

Being Muslim and our personal identity
● Discussion on who we are, and how we define ourselves as Muslims
● What does it mean to be a Muslim mukallaf
● The Shahaadah
● Daily Intention and gratitude (Discussion- being grateful in a chaotic world)

The Muslim and their Creator:
● Our relationship with our Creator and tawhid
● Building our relationship with our Creator
● Workshop: What is our purpose in life – finding our spiritual treasure

Breaking through and creating change
● Our fears (what holds us back)
● How our beliefs impact on our lives
● Our attitude towards making changes
● Implementing new habits


Instructor: Mualima Zaitoon Ebrahim

Born and raised in Cape Town, Zaitoon Ebrahim is a motivational speaker, artist, mom of 2 boys, and author. She obtained bachelor’s degree in Islamic Theology at Islamic College of Southern Africa and started her career as an Islamic studies educator at Madrassatul Quds. During this time, she managed youth events with an NGO, facilitating events, camps and leadership training for adults and youth. Being involved with the youth, she also co-presented on radio Voice of the Cape for one year on the show, ‘For Young Individuals’. The key focus of this programme was to educate young individuals about entrepreneurship and personal growth.

In addition to this, she obtained a Diploma in Project Management, a diploma in Didactics and certification in Life Coaching, Neuro-Linguistic Programming, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Therapeutic Art Coaching.
