Description:

Today, our nation is deeply divided, with political factions fueling the fires of division with bigoted policies and rhetoric. The constant questioning of the legitimacy of our democratic, electoral processes and the callous dismissal of pluralism in favor of nationalism have undermined our democratic institutions and weakened our legitimacy. The rights of some Americans are now perceived as a threat to the freedoms of others.

American Muslims continue to face our own very unique issues such as institutional Islamophobia, a growing domestic Hindutva threat and a continued silencing of our rights to speak against the injustices being committed against the Palestinian people. We are presented now with an opportunity to reaffirm our commitment to the values that make up our democracy and to celebrate them in our diversity.

We invite you to join MPAC’s President Salam Al-Marayati and MPAC’s Senior Advisor Faiyaz Hussain, as they lead a wide ranging discussion about what MPAC is doing to counter the various existential threats facing our country and the role of the American Muslim community during these unprecedented times. (Space is limited. Lunch will be provided.)
