Perhaps Allah (s.w.t.) had answered our prayers, and granted us the things we so desired.

At a point where we are blessed, we may forget the One who gave us those blessings. And we fail to recall that as capable He is of giving, He also has the power to take the blessings away from us.

The Prophet (s.a.w.) said,

Allah has revealed to me that you must be humble, so that no one oppresses another and boasts over another.

(Sunan Abi Dawud)

We may not realise it, but we need reminders the most when we are at our highest. And what better way is there to learn about humility, than from those who had walked through life before us?
