Description:

By attending this masterclass, you will learn:

  1. What trauma is, and the different types and how it leads to PTSD, and complex PTSD
  2. How trauma affects the brain and body
  3. Different types of coping mechanisms, utilising the Quran and Sunnah
  4. Trauma in Islam and how different prominent Islamic figures overcame their own trauma
  5. The Duha Approach and Post Traumatic Growth

This masterclass will be highly interactive, with many discussions, and case studies to work through as a group.

Dates & Times:

  • Saturday 20th April, 11am – 2pm, online only!

However, the cycle of re-living our trauma can be stopped when we decide to understand our own trauma using Islam; choose healthy coping mechanisms, and take examples from the Quran and Sunnah and find comfort in the words of Allah leading to post-traumatic growth.

It is our social and collective responsibility to ensure we both speak and act with knowledge, advocate for those struggling with their own trauma or when recovering from a traumatic experience and support ourselves and others when needed.

By attending this workshop, you will be contributing towards the mission of improving the safety, mental health and wellbeing of the Ummah, In Shaa Allah! You will also receive a certificate of attendance.
