Description:

For Muslims, the Qur’an is incomparable to any piece of literature. As the Divine Word of Allah, the ideal way to read and comprehend it is in Arabic, the language through which it was revealed to mankind.

However, the diversity of Muslim culture and the impact of globalisation means that translations are necessary to both understand and spread the message of Islam. For some, early English translations by Pickthall and Abdullah Yusuf Ali are definitive, yet a plethora of new translations with distinct styles and objectives have appeared in recent years.

Join Dr. Musharraf Hussain (The Majestic Qur’an) and Tahir Kiani (The Easy Qur’an) in conversation with Shaykh Waseem Ahmed as they discuss why new translations are crucial to foster understanding of Islam in an increasingly complex, post-modern world.

This event is kindly supported by Karimia Institute.
