Summer Immersion Program?

Our Summer Immersion aims to provide students with an introduction into a variety of courses from the Islamic tradition, such as Tafsir (Quranic Exegesis), Islamic History, Tazkiyah (Purification of Heart), and Seerah (Prophetic Biography). By enrolling in the Summer Immersion, students receive a glimpse into Miftaah Institute’s main offering, the Associate’s Program, in regards to timing, classwork, and formatting.

Blissful Departure: Fiqh of Death + Inheritance

Instructor: Shaykh Abdul Aziz Waheed

This course offers a comprehensive exploration of Islamic jurisprudence (Fiqh) pertaining to two critical aspects of a Muslim’s life: death and inheritance. Delving into these topics is essential for individuals seeking to navigate the legal, ethical, and spiritual dimensions associated with the end of life and the distribution of assets in accordance with Islamic principles.

What will we cover?
• Explore the fundamental principles and teachings of Islamic law concerning the end-of-life processes and asset distribution after death, essential for navigating legal and ethical considerations.
• Delve into the practical aspects of Islamic funeral rites and burial customs, examining the religious significance and cultural practices associated with honoring the deceased and comforting their loved ones.
• Gain insight into the intricate framework of Islamic inheritance laws, including the principles governing asset distribution among heirs, the significance of wills (Wasiyyah), and the mechanisms for resolving inheritance disputes according to Shariah.

 

The Battlefields of Faith: History of Early Islamic Conquests

The Virtues of Knowledge: Kitab al-ʿIlm in Mishkāt al-Masabih

Prophets and Promises: Tafsir of Surah Saad

The Tafsir of Surah Saad course offers a profound journey into the depths of Surah Saad, one of the chapters of the Holy Quran. Surah Saad holds immense significance, containing timeless wisdom, moral lessons, and spiritual guidance for believers. • A verse-by-verse reading and Tafsir of the Surah

Unwavering Faith: The Mysteries of Trials & Tests

Instructor: Shaykh Mohammed Almasmari

The most tried and tested way of growing in our love for Allah ﷻ is by knowing Him. And there is no better way to know Him than through the names He mentions for Himself and that we use to call upon Him. Each name uniquely increases one’s awe, reverence, and love for Allah ﷻ – ultimately allowing the Muslim to connect to Allah  ﷻ through each one of the beautiful names, and embody the implications of each of these names – qualities that make one beloved to Allah ﷻ.

What will we cover?
• The linguistic roots of Allāh’s ﷻ Names and the correct definition and understanding of them when referring to Allah ﷻ
• A thorough study of each name and its implications, wisdoms and benefits
• A thorough understanding of the hadith of encompassing 99 names of Allah ﷻ
• How to use them in our everyday lives and du‘ā’

 

The Hidden Pearls: Parables in the Quran

This course explores the various parables found in the Quran, offering insights into their deeper meanings and the wisdom they convey. By analyzing these metaphorical stories, students will gain a better understanding of Islamic teachings on morality, faith, and human nature, and how these lessons apply to contemporary life.

What will we cover?
• Identify and analyze the parables presented in the Quran.
•Understand the context and underlying messages of each parable.
•Reflect on the moral and spiritual lessons derived from these stories.
